As a group, we acknowledge that we are working from the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation.
We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and celebrate their ongoing connection to the land and waters of Australia.
We have learnt how birthing on country has been an uninterrupted practice for First Nations people for over 60,000 years. We want to acknowledge how First Nations people gave birth on the same lands as their mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers with birthing seen as a collective responsibility of the community with great grandmothers, grandmothers and aunties playing significant midwifery roles.
